Warwick Psychology PhD Fellowship (Language, Literacy & Lifespan Learning) — international applicants welcome
Summary of recruitment:
Research focus: Language, Literacy & Learning across the Lifespan
Projects sit at the intersection of developmental psychology, psycholinguistics, education, and cognitive science, with scope to work on topics such as:
- Bi-literacy and reading development (e.g., how bilingual experience and sublexical/metalinguistic skills support reading) in children (5–11) and/or young adults
- Speech and language perception/learning in older adulthood, including how training and individual differences (e.g., working memory) shape outcomes
- Behavioural experimental work, potentially including training/intervention-style designs and individual-differences approaches
Supervision: The successful candidate will be supervised by Dr Alice Chan, with co-supervision opportunities available with colleagues across the Department of Psychology — within and beyond the Language & Learning group — depending on the project focus.
International applicants are very welcome to apply. The fellowship is intended to cover fees plus a stipend, and for outstanding overseas candidates, there might be scope for a matched/fee-waiver arrangement on a case-by-case basis.
